The Researched Medicines Industry Association of New Zealand (RMI)
is the professional and trade organisation representing companies
engaged in the research, development, manufacture and marketing
of prescription medicines.
Membership of the RMI is voluntary. The governing body of the RMI
is its Board of Directors which consists of eight members elected
annually in March from the chief executive officers of member companies.

The RMI works to:
1. Demonstrate the value of medicines, within the context of total
health care
2. Ensure access for all New Zealanders and their medical advisors
to new medicines
3. Encourage and support continuing advancement in medical science
and its application in health
4. Ensure the industry, through the RMI, is recognised by the health
sector and the community generally as a key partner in maintaining
the good health of all New Zealanders.
